The Dean Blietz Service Memorial Award is given annually to an exceptional individual who has demonstrated long-term, selfless dedication and compassion in the care or service to our community.

We were honored to present this award to Ron Jacoby. Congratulations Ron! The Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida nominated Ron Jacoby for the Dean Blietz Annual Memorial Award for Outstanding Community Service. Ron has been a loyal food bank volunteer for several years. He is always ready to help collect and sort food for children, seniors, working poor families and other clients who receive help through the food bank’s partner agencies and mobile pantry program. In the his five years of service to the food bank, Ron has donated more than 800 hours of his time in the belief that no one should go hungry our community.

When he isn’t helping at the food bank, Ron volunteers at Community Cooperative and at his church, Christ United Methodist Church. Simply put, Ron embodies the importance of helping others, not only through his work at the Harry Chapin Food Bank, but through his efforts at other worthy community organizations. His service clearly shows that is deserving of the Dean Blietz Annual Memorial Award. Thank you for your time and consideration.
